Summary Realme 5
Realme 5 features an updated crystal pattern on the back. It keeps the polycarbonate construction and laminated front panel from the previous model. The phone weighs almost 200g and sports the largest 6.5-inch HD+ display. The lack of resolution isn’t an issue since the colors and brightness are excellent. It’s a good device. Realme 5 has a slot to the left to hold two Nano-SIM cards as well as an additional slot for microSD cards.
It runs ColorOS 6.0.1 which comes with a more streamlined and softer interface that is more similar to Android 9 Pie. It comes with a variety of customization options, like shortcuts and gestures. The phone runs the Snapdragon 665 SoC and is available in three variations. The highest-end model that we tested comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Gaming and app performance is great but the device doesn’t get hot too much.
The Realme 5 has four cameras on the rear and is the first smartphone to feature this kind of arrangement for less than the price of Rs. 10,000. In addition to the main camera, and the depth sensor Realme is also introducing an omnidirectional and macro lens that are both helpful. The 13-megapixel selfie camera comes with electronic stabilization for video. The cameras work admirably in bright light, but struggle to capture great clarity in low lighting.
Realme 5 Realme 5 has a 5000mAh battery, which can easily last for about a day and a half or more on a single charge. However, fast charging isn’t allowed. Overall the Realme 5’s base version (3GB of RAM and 32GB storage) provides the best price at the price of Rs. 9,999, but the 128GB variant at just Rs. 11,999 is still an excellent value given the package.
